Weller Ranch hosted their 4th annual horse sale in their hometown of Kadoka SD on Aug. 1st. A live preview and social supper was held the previous evening. Horses were sent to 17 states. The top seller was Weller Ranch Lot 25, Uncorked Jack, selling for $9100 and going to Ft. Pierre, SD with a bright future in bulldogging. Tying for 2nd and 3rd high sellers were Weller Ranch Lot 60, CW Windsor N Te, a home raised gray gelding sired by Sierras Notion. Windsor had been used all summer as a pickup horse and the honest ranch broke gelding fetched $9000 and found his new home in Cody, WY. Weller Ranch Lot 13, Brazos Badger, the iridescent palomino with loads of all around talent, also brought $9000 and headed to northern MN. Midas’s new owners plan to qualify him for the Palomino and AQHA World shows in the future! 4th highest on the list was Lot 56, Twistin San Peppy, who left the ring at $8900 but stayed in Columbia SD. Following close at $8800 was lot 123, Peppy San Freckletin, who went home with happy repeat Gillette WY buyers. Lot 16, Weller Ranch’s Frost On My Dynamite, the OWN son of Frenchmans Guy, commanded $8000 and went to his new Black Hills home to repeat clients from Nemo, SD. Tying for 7th & 8th honors were Lot 57, Tators Dun Sun and Lot 44, Buck each bringing the hammer down at $7500. Lot 57 headed to Spearman, TX and Buck resides in Rapid City SD. 8th high horse was Weller Ranch Lot 6, RF Copycat, easily the shapiest gelding to be offered and worth the dough at $7400. Copycat headed to the west coast to Keene, CA. Rounding out the top ten was Lot 5, a unique blue roan paint, Intimidated TC with a bid of $7200 and moved south to McPherson, KS. The top weanling was Lot 64, a gray filly from the heart of the Weller program, sired by the Real Gun stallion out of a Sierras Notion daughter. For $1100, she found her new home with repeat clients and friends from Advance, NC. Lot 31, a blue roan filly sired by Sierras Notion sold for $1000 to a Houston TX buyer, who was our volume buyer of weanlings (4 head) and geldings as well (6 head). Lot 34, a fancy, fancy Sierras Notion sired gray stud colt sold for $1000 to a Muskogee, OK gentleman. Winner of the Featherlite 20’ stock combo trailer was the buyer of Lot 66. The Stockton KS buyer paid $2900 for his purchase of Weller Ranch’s extremely well broke mare, Sabre Two De Cash. She was in foal to the new ranch perlino stallion. Bill & Carrie wish to thank all buyers, bidders, attendees and consignors who made the sale a success along with a sincere thanks to the hardworking dedicated crew of friends, family, neighbors and employees who made the day run smoothly.
